04/11/25 Pay Plan Update and News

Pay Plan - What's Next?

Now that the classification and grade assignments have been signed by the Governor the second phase begins. Currently, the Office of Personnel Management is meeting with all agency leadership teams and releasing the rest of the new components of the pay plan and how it works. Then that information will be sent to the employees. This is when you will learn if you have a new job title, your correct grade, how Career Tracks might benefit you, and other new components of the pay plan.

Payout Upon Retirement

We asked the Governor's office and Legislators at the beginning of the session to consider increasing the cap on payout upon retirement. Everyone agreed it had merit but with the large investment of $134 million into a new pay plan for state employees it was too much of an ask to add to the budget. We will try again in the next regular legislative session in 2027.

Bereavement Leave

Bereavement leave will now be a new benefit for state employees. We think it will first become available in July of 2025. We will defer to the Office of Personnel Management and your agency to release the details.

Retiree News

United Healthcare and CHI/St. Vincent have come to an agreement and the contract has been renewed.

No significant changes were made to your health insurance nor your retirement plan during the 2025 legislative session. Your 3% cost of living adjustment is intact.

Have a great weekend and thank you for being a member of ASEA!
