GET INVOLVED IN THE STATE EMPLOYEE OF ARKANSAS POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE
SEAPAC is a corporation, separate from ASEA, created in compliance with state laws and regulations that pertain to the operation of political action committees. SEAPAC allows state employees to make a difference, to a larger movement; to join a chorus that can sing louder than any one performer.
SEAPAC can be involved in the election process whereas ASEA cannot. However, ASEA can lobby on behalf of state employees and SEAPAC cannot. As a political action committee, SEAPAC raises money and makes contributions to the campaigns of political candidates whom it supports. Political candidates are endorsed based on their support of issues that matter to state employees.
Endorsement of Candidates
- SEAPAC cannot endorse candidates of either Federal positions (U.S. Senate or House), or state constitutional offices such as the governor.
- SEAPAC cannot endorse, with money, candidates who are unopposed.
- The SEAPAC Board of Directors shall select all candidates for possible endorsement. Simple majority is needed for endorsement.
State Employee Involvement
Effective July 1, 2014 a portion of ASEA membership dues will go to SEAPAC. ASEA will in turn make annual contributions of up to $5,000 to SEAPAC.
Non-State Employee Membership
Membership in SEAPAC is available to any other genuinely interested persons who make a minimum contribution of $10.00 or more annually. Contributions are used for building the SEAPAC fund to make political contributions and for minor administrative expenses that are authorized by the SEAPAC Board of Directors.
During election seasons SEAPAC will post candidate endorsements via this website. We will no longer mail endorsement letters unless requested.
There are three levels of SEAPAC membership
Gold member = $100.00 donation
Silver member = $50.00 donation
Bronze member = $10.00 donation
